Epithalon, also commonly known as Epitalon, is an experimental short-chain peptide typically described as a tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). It has been investigated primarily in research involving cellular aging, pineal biology, and age-related biological mechanisms.

One area of scientific interest involves telomere and telomerase biology. Experimental studies have explored possible relationships between Epithalon, telomerase activity, telomere dynamics, and cellular replicative aging, making it a compound of interest in cellular aging research.

Because of its historical association with pineal research, Epithalon has also been investigated in connection with pineal gland biology, melatonin-related mechanisms, sleep-wake cycles, and circadian rhythm regulation.

Additional experimental research has explored potential relationships with oxidative stress, gene expression, cellular homeostasis, and age-associated cellular changes, providing a research model for studying molecular mechanisms associated with biological aging.

Evidence involving Epithalon remains limited, particularly with respect to large-scale, high-quality human clinical studies. Current findings do not establish that Epithalon reverses human aging, extends human lifespan, restores telomeres, or treats age-related diseases.
